From billboards on the London Underground to TV screens in New York City, critically acclaimed rap artist and classical pianist E.N.V is packing a punch on the music scene. His old skool influences and classical training set him up in the premiership of emerging artists, already holding two Top-40 remixes and reaching #8 on the MTV Click List.
E.N.V found music at the early age of six, learning to play the piano and singing at any given chance. “As a kid, I always wanted to play the piano and perform for people – I just loved it,” he says. His talent and passion have since evolved into a hybrid sound, described by one critic as ‘Macklemore meets Chase & Status’. E.N.V is now using his training as a classical pianist to bring credibility to urban pop.
“Who’d have thought it?” says E.N.V. “I’ve shared the same stage as top artists like Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran and Tim Westwood.”
Sponsored by fashion brand WeSC, E.N.V is no stranger to press and radio, having clocked up over 100 performances across the world and supported the global launch of Puma’s new fragrance in 15 different countries.
E.N.V has featured alongside Tinchy Stryder in Time Out and RWD magazine, and been interviewed and playlisted by KISS FM. He’s made a big impression on the BBC’s Introducing London show, and received airtime on both sides of the Atlantic.
With a quarter of a million YouTube hits and his latest video airing on MTV, and Chart Show TV, E.N.V has earned the backing of the Orange Fun Finder, which declared “E.N.V’s reign of the worldwide urban scene looks certain”.
Most recently, E.N.V has been invited to showcase his music at the Red Bull HQ and perform for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Always in demand, E.N.V is currently writing for ten other artists - and with his brand established in Germany (he’s a resident performer at Berlin Fashion Week, sponsored by Mercedes), E.N.V is now bringing his innovative sound to the UK music industry.
Watch out for E.N.V in 2014…
